THE BJP National Executive meet in Lucknow was conducted mainly to activate, motivate and energise the karyakartas and set the stage for mobilising public opinion in favour of BJP. The venue of the meeting was Scientific Convention Centre, a grand structure built during the time of Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee as Member of Parliament from Lucknow.

Shri LK Advani, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Smt Sushma Swaraj, Shri Arun Jaitley, Dr MM Joshi, Shri Rajnath Singh and other 275 members participated in the Executive Committee deliberations.

National president Shri Nitin Gadkari, before coming to Lucknow, visited Atalji in Delhi and informed him about the Executive Meet and got his blessings. Shri Surya Pratap Sahi, state president, welcomed the delegates with a confident note of how they are trying to make Uttar Pradesh more stronger for BJP.

Shri Nitin Gadkari began his presidential speech by welcoming all to the city of Lucknow. “This city is originally called as Laxmanpuri adoring Laksman of Ramayana who was a true embodiment of sacrifice, commitment and dedication. Every karyakarta should inculcate these qualities. Laxman was the real strength of Sri Ram. This is an occasion to rededicate ourselves to the cause of establishing a Ram Rajya in UP and for the entire country.

Lucknow was the karmabhoomi of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya, Bhaurao Deoras, Nanaji Deshmukh and Sundar Singh Bhandari. Patriotism, good governance, development and antyodaya are the four corner stones of our functional philosophy. Our grand old leaders’ life and work symbolise all these four mainstays of our ideology.

The party decided to conduct the following programme in coming months:

The party will celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and the 110th birth anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee who sacrificed his life for unity of the country. The party will celebrate these birth anniversaries at grass roots level.

Intellectuals meet will be organised in metro cities to carry on the fight against corruption and to bring back the money slashed away in abroad.

The organisers had arranged some exhibitions also that attracted the attention of all the members in the Scientific Convention Centre. Good governance exhibition described the achievements of BJP and NDA-ruled states. The visitors were shown about the performance of NDA-ruled states. The photos were explaining the development initiatives from women empowerment to environment and from education to infrastructure. There was another exhibition to create awareness about the border of our nation and threat to the borders. It was mainly to encourage more people to visit the border areas and to salute jawans.

On the banks of Gomati River the members resolved to take steps to consolidate the rich heritage of the Party. In this 60th year of formation of Jana Sangh the delegates were inspired by the atmosphere.
