SHRI Amarnath Barfani Langars Organisation (SABLO), an association of more than 100 Langar organisations dedicated to the cause of serving the devotees going to Amarnath pilgrimage, staged a strong protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on May 23 against derogatory remarks made by Agnivesh in Srinagar against Baba Amarnath.

President of the federation Shri Vijay Thakur and general secretary Shri Rajan Gupta strongly condemned the remarks of Agnivesh made at the residence of separatist leader Sayed Ali Shah Geelani. Agnivesh called Shri Amarnath Yatra a fraud and a religious pakhand thereby hurting the sentiments of crores of Baba Amarnath devotees. The federation described the yatra as a symbol of unity in the country. “Such remarks can never be made by any Indian, hence intolerable,” the protesters said. They termed Agnivesh as a mentally sick and separatist who wants to disrupt peace and harmony of the country. After burning the effigy of Agnivesh, the protestors demanded his immediate arrest for making such anti-religious remarks.
