THE Eye of the Predator is a racy account of the daring terrorist activities of Baitullah Masud and how he is bombed to death by the Americans, when he is with his third wife on the open terrace of his father-in-law’s house in Zanghara.
In the beginning Masud worked for the Pakistani army, but after collecting billions of Rupees and creating a powerful organization (Tehreek-e-Taliban), he left their fold, and dreamed of being the Ameer of Pakistan. Because of this, he refused the invitation of Mullah Omar, the Afghan Taliban leader, to join him in Afghanistan.
With the help of his brave and loyal commanders, Masud spreads terror in Pakistan, kills civilians and politicians, including Benazir Bhutto, and attacks army positions, too. Because of his menacing ways, the Pakistani army, with the help of American fire power, hits at his stronghold in Waziristan and targets him in Makeen, where he has a miraculous escape. But the attack unnerves him; he begins to distrust his commanders, and eliminates some of them. He screams in his sleep and has scary visions of his dead adversaries.
The Eye of the Predator is a very readable account of Masud’s terrorist operations and the politics and intrigue associated with terrorist operations.
