THE bomb blast at Shitla Mata Ghat of the Ganga River in Varanasi on December 7 claimed the life of an infant and injured 39 people. Immediately after getting the news of the blast, the RSS swayamsevaks rushed the spot and the hospital to rescue the victims. A group of swayamsevaks reached different hospitals including Sarsunder Lal Hospital, Shiv Prasad Gupt Hospital, Kabir Chaura Hospital, Heritage Hospital, Marvadi Hospital, Singh Medical College, etc. to donate blood and to provide other help to the victims and their family members. More than 400 swayamsevaks got engaged in relief activities under the leadership of Vibhag Pracharak Shri Manoj Kumar, Zilla Pracharak Shri Vishwa Pratap and Zilla Sanghachalak Prof. Satyendra Mishra. The government officials and the doctors on duty appreciated the role played by the swayamsevaks. (By Lok Nath)
