THESE days, brain drain is a central problem and an issue of worry for the under developed and developing region like North-East India. Most of the students here in the NE believe that there are much better resources outside the country as well as the region to work but they don’t think at all that this act actually is effecting the per capita income and hence the National income. Students swot here and gain all the knowledge from their native states and when it comes to do something in their nation and put in to the nation’s income they go overseas saying that India or our state does not have livelihood opportunities.

Those students who leave for alien nations to earn should realise that all the social problems prevailing in the society like poverty, hunger etc. are accountable somehow or the other to the culture of working in other nations and contributing to the national income of that country instead of giving to their own nation where the consuming population is increasing and contributing population decreasing due to brain drain.

One consequence of brain drain is, people forget their parents, brothers and sisters, kith and kin and even their motherland. They try not to remember their traditions and cultures. They need only money and not motherland or anything else.

It is seen not only in the NE region but in most of the states here in India. The youths of the country have to comprehend that today India is no less than any other country in the world. India has made far-reaching progress in all spheres be it science and technology, education, entertainment, employment (there are so many MNC’s and BPO’s which employ thousands of youth). And yes not to forget the recent organising of the Indian Premiere League pave many ways for business establishments.

North East India is now developing in all aspects day after day. There are many industrial estates in every part of the region. Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Tripura are among them. In the groove of science and technology, the region is gradually on the rise, providing employment opportunities particularly to the educated unemployed youths in the state.

Then why do we need to go out of this wonderful region as well as nation and work under and employer of another nation who does not even understand the Indian Culture and Indian loveliness. We don’t have to go and eat at our neighbour’s house when our own mom cooks such delicious food then why go to any other country to work when our own country provides us such wonderful job opportunities. We just need to search a little more and do a little more hard work and then one day all Indians would be employed according to their capabilities and India will be the ‘Golden Bird’ of our dreams once again.
