A swayamsevak and ABVP activist Unnikrishnan (19), who was brutally manhandled by SFI goons died at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College on July 15. Unnikrishnan, the second year History student of Chembazhanthi SN College was attacked by SFI goons and was admitted in the Medical College following the assault. Now college authorities and Health Ministry are reportedly trying to influence the doctors to document the death as a result of pneumonia.
Unnikrishnan was a swayamsevak of Karikkakam Irumal Shakha. Hailing from a economically deprived family he was working part time along with his studies at Titanium to support his family. His father is a washerman. ABVP demanded proper investigation and strict action against the goons who took the life of Unnikrishnan. ABVP also organised a statewide protest on July 16 against this incident. (FOC)
