SITUATED in the Eastern Region of Mauritius, the new Shishu Niketan under the aegis of Keshva Srishti International(Mauritius) Ltd saw its dawn in January 2010. This is the first Shishu Niketan based on Integrated Education System guided by Vidya Bharati and other associates in education field. After the persistent efforts, a site was identified and the renovation work in the existing building started in December 2009. The site soon turned into a beautiful Shishu Niketan as per the norms of the ECCEA (Early Childhood Care and Education Authority) of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Human Resources.

On the auspicious day of Vasant Panchmi, January 20, 210, the official inauguration ceremony was performed by Hon. Anil Kumar Bachoo, Minister of Public Infrastructure and Land Transport and Shipping. Hon. Dharambeer Gokhool, Minister of Industry, Science and Research and Dr Hon. Rajendra Mungur, Junior Minister (Parliamentary Private Secretary) as well as the Director the Ministry of Education and the Head of ECCEA also attended the ceremony.

The programme started with the Vandana of Saraswati Mata followed by the songs sung by the newly admitted students of the Shishu Niketan. The Directors of Keshav Srishti International Shri Lakshmi-narayan Bhala and Shri Premchand Boojhawon spoke about the aims and objectives of the Shishu Niketan and assured that in the coming years many such Shishu Niketans will be operational throughout the Island. A portrait of Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar is slated to be unveiled on March 15th in the school premises.

Among the guests present were Shri Raghunath Deeal, Sanghchalak of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) Mauritius, Shri Rajendra Arun, chairman of the Ramayan Centre, Shri Prakash Bahadoor, secretary of the Human Service Trust and the director of Krishnanand Seva Ashram, Shri Suryadev Bissessur.
