“THE western model of development has caused many problems in the world. Today, there is an atmosphere of disappointment everywhere. In this situation, only the Indian model of sustainable development can ensure happiness and prosperity in the world. Ours is the model that ensures food for all, health for all and education for all,” said noted economist and Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak of RSS Dr Bajrang Lal Gupt. He was speaking at a seminar organised by multi-lingual news agency Hindusthan Samachar in New Delhi on February 20. The seminar was part of the diamond jubilee celebration of the agency. The topic of the seminar was “Resurgent India in the Post World Recession Scenario: Advantage and challenges”.
Member of the Planning Commission Dr Narendra Jadhav was the chief guest. Shri Vinod Bavari, president of My Home India presided over the seminar. Noted economist Shri KK Swami and chairman of Electricity Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum were also present on the occasion.
Referring to the global recession, Dr Gupt further said the recession began from the US and it had no impact on Bharat. The reason of the recession was that the people who were not able to return the loan were too given loans. Talking about the high GDP growth of European countries he said their economy is based on market while it is different in the case of India. He stressed the need to redefine the concept of developed and developing countries. He said the countries which claim more production are exploiting the nature the most and they are not ready to pay for the crime they are committing. He said only limited, controlled and righteous use of the natural resources would ensure sustainable development in the world.
Shri Narendra Jadhav said there was no impact of global recession on Bharat and during that period too we registered seven per cent growth in India. There are many reasons of global recession and India has been unaffected of it because of our different lifestyle which discourages consumerism. He said India requires equal opportunities of education to all for becoming the superpower. “If we fail to change our education system and do not ensure equal education opportunities for all, we cannot become a superpower even by the year 2020, 30 or 40.
Shri Prashant Khambasvadkar, CEO of Universal Group, said there was no recession in our country and it was the media that created the atmosphere of recession. He said the Indian youth are more talented than the youth of other nations. The Indian students are taught many subjects at a time while the students in other countries study only one subject which does not make them perfect. He said the talent of Indian students has been acclaimed all over the world but if we wish to play a leading role in the global economy we shall have to concentrate on the development of villages also and the policy of concentrating only on cities would take us nowhere.
Chairman of Hindusthan Samachar Dr Nandkishor Trikha described the journey of the agency as a sadhana. He said the diamond jubilee celebration is a moment in its long journey and it has to achieve many other heights. He said the Hindusthan Samachar has successfully registered its presence in different parts of the country. Veteran Sangh Pracharak Shrikant Joshi and Shri Omprakash were also present on the occasion.
