Assam Shilpi Diwas by Sanskar Bharati

THE Assam unit of Sanskar Bharati organised Assam Shilpi Diwas in the whole region from January 17 to 23 to observe the death anniversary of great artist Rupkunwar Jyoti Prasad. The commemorative function concluded at Kumar Bhaskar Natya Mandir in Guwahati on January 23. A total of 150 artists representing 15 leading artist groups of Assam participated in the function.

The objective of the event was to restore the glory of Assamese folk music, dance and culture. Many leading artists of Assam including Shri Anand Mohan Bahgwati, Shri Jatin Goswami, Shri Atulanand Goswami and Shri Biju Phukan also attended the function. They said the art should be helpful in national progress and should not lead to degradation. They praised the activities of Sanskar Bharati. More than 500 people of the city attended the function.
