The Shiksha Bachao Andolan Samiti strongly objected to the CBSE schools’ directive to students of 11th class to ‘go to an art gallery or internet café to collect the paintings of MF Husain and prepare an album.’ The Samiti also served a notice to NCERT director Prof Krishna Kumar seeking withdrawal of the directive immediately otherwise the Samiti would start an agitation.

In a statement issued in New Delhi national convener of the Samiti Shri Dina Nath Batra said FIRs are also being registered in Police stations against the authorities concerned. “In this way there will be exhibitions of naked paintings of Hindu Gods and Goddess in every House,” he said.

The autobiography of MF Husain has been given in the book Antaral for the students of class XIth. “Obviously, Husain has been presented a role model for the students in the book. There are many criminal cases pending against Husain in various courts of the country against his obnoxious, indecent and perverse portrayal of female Hindu deities including Bharat Mata. The perverse thinking is not missing even from his autobiography, which the students are made to read. But it does not end here. In the exercise of the chapter the students have been directed to collect the paintings of Husain which are not only masterpieces of the depiction of perverse sexual thinking but dangerous to the communal harmony also as through these paintings Husain has only insulted the Hindu deities. So, teaching Husain to impregnable minds is not only immoral but illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional too,” Shri Batra said.

It is to be noted that MF Husain is absconding from Indian courts for the last more than ten months. If in future he is put behind the bars by the courts, which he is likely to be, the psychological damage done to the students who are made to study the autobiography of such persons can be anybody’s guess.
