Samajik Samarasta Manch organised a function at Mahatma Puhle Memorial in Pune on November 14 to pay tribute to Lahuji Vastad on his 115th birth anniversary. Paying tribute RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat said Veer Lahuji Vastad was a great person and his work was so basic that it took many years even after his death to get recognition from the society. “He worked completely away from name and fame. We should understand his greatness from the work of his illustrious disciples like Lokmanya Tilak, Vasudev Balwant Fadake, Mahatma Phule, etc. All these people worked with dedication for the absolute unity of the society, never lost hope in spite of numerous odds, and were successful in their own ways to give a direction and inspiration for unity, freedom, and a harmonious society,” he said.

Referring to the mention of such great personalities in the textbooks he said it is the knowledge of rich heritage of the nation that inspires us to work towards the fulfillment of the dreams of our great personalities. The dream of those great personalities was discrimination free, harmonious Hindu society and prosperous Bharat, he added.
