Thirteenth Kochi International Book Festival (KIBF) will be organised at Ernakulathappan Ground in Kochi from November 27 to December 6. More than 250 exhibitors are expected to attract hundreds and thousands of book-lovers from all over the State. The festival is organised by Antharashtra Pusthakotsava Samithi.
Beginning in the year 1997, the KIBF has evolved into a largest and finest book festival in the southern part of India. Hundreds and thousands of book-lovers have been eagerly participating in this annual literary festival that includes a ten-day schedule of stellar programmes and special events. Last year’s festival had more than 200 exhibitors and a hundred thousand visitors. Indeed, the figures have been increasing every year and this year too it is not an exception, as more exhibitors, more great deals and buys and more exciting special events are expected to fill the halls of Kochi’s premier exhibition venue.
The KIBF will conduct various programmes and special events. Exhibitors and sponsors are encouraged to draw up their line of special events such as book launchings, seminars, symposia, workshops, quiz competitions and educational video screening in co-ordination with the organisers. A full integrated promotion campaign has been launched by the organisers to ensure maximum number of visitors. This includes a tri-media campaign. Awareness has been created though news/photo releases and articles in major newspapers and magazines and plug-ins in TV and Radio stations. Colourful publicity processions are taking place to attract the participants and the book-lovers.
