Under the special drive to expand its organisational network the Bharat Vikas Parishad has decided to increase its number of branches to 1200 and number of members to 50,000 this year. Presently the Parishad has about 1000 branches in different parts of the country. Decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of Bharat Vikas Parisahd national leaders held in Jamshedpur from August 29 to 30. A total of 30 national leaders participated in the meeting. The meeting also decided to give the Utkrishta Samman for this year to the personality or organisation working for environment protection. National president of the Parishad Shri Ravindrapal Singh stressed the need to increase the number of branches of the Parishad. He pointed out that the Maharashtra Government has sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the marriage of economically deprived girls and the Parishad members could take benefit of the scheme. Shri Dineshanand Goswami of ABVP suggested the Parishad to expand its area of working so that other problems of the people could also be addressed effectively. Chief guest and noted industrialist Shri Gajanand Bhalotia assured every possible help to the activities of the Parishad.
