A sub-yatra under the aegis of Vishwa Mangal Gou Gram Yatra Samiti began in Himachal Pradesh on September 11 from Manu Maharaj Temple, Manali. Despite heavy rains and cold, hundreds of people turned to perform goupuja and extend their support to the yajna of cow and village protection.

Addressing the gathering veteran Sangh Pracharak and patron of Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana Thakur Ram Singh said Vishwa Mangal Gou Gram Yatra is the biggest event for the protection of cow, village and the nature. He said the protection of the society lies in the protection of the cow and the village.

Mahant Yogi Suraj Nath, president of the state Yatra Samiti, said the cow is regarded a mother as her milk is similar beneficial as the milk of the mother. But it is very unfortunate that the mother cow is being slaughtered in the country in large numbers and even our governments are earning revenue from this heinous crime. He called upon the people to rear Indian breed of cow and popularise the economic aspects of the cow rearing. He said the growing use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides is not only making the soil poisonous but also poisoning the agro-products, which will make every countryman sick.

Swami Govind Das appealed to the people to resolve not to sell any cow to the butchers. He said the speedily the government is granting license to the slaughtered houses in the country it would become difficult to save the cattle. He said the Vishwa Mangal Gou Gram Yatra is the biggest event in the country to save the cow, villages, agriculture, farmers and the country. “This is an effort to make the country a Gokul Gram and every house a Nand Dham again,” he said.

Prior to it, all the saints and participants performed goupuja. Then Thankur Ram Singh and others flagged off the yatra. Four other similar sub-yatras would be taken out in the state that would visit all villages of the state. All these yatras would join the main yatra on October 7. The main yatra will be in the state for three days i.e. from October 7 to 9. Former Prant Sanghachalak of the state Pt Jagannath, Prant Karyavah Shri Chetram, Prant Prachar Pramukh Shri Narendra Kumar and many other distinguished guests were also present on the occasion.
