“Bharat was made ‘India’ to ruin its svatva (self-respect). Now making it tejasvi, Bharat again should be the prime objective of education system in the country. Today education to girl child is the best investment,” said Rashtriya Sevika Samiti Pramukh Sanchalika Pramilatai Medhe. She was inaugurating a seminar organised on women education by Akhil Bharatiya Mahila Samanvya in New Delhi on September 6.

A total of 280 representatives from 28 organisations and delegates from 36 Prants participated in the seminar. Fifty women scholars presented their papers on various issues related to women education. Sahkaryavahika of the Samiti Rukminiakka, RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Suresh Soni, head of Akhil Bharatiya Mahila Samanvya Geetatai Gunde, convener of the seminar Dr Sharad Renu were also present at the inaugural ceremony.

Pramilatai praised the women who apart from doing jobs are also managing their families well. About the women education she said apart from helping the women identifying her internal qualities, they should also be apprised of their duties to the nation and the society.

Shri Govind Prasad Sharma, vice president of Vidya Bharati spoke on roots of Indian education. He said the violent, aggressive and unethical trends emerging in the education are dangerous not only in the Indian context but also in the global context. “If we wish to set an example in education we must get rid of the Anglo-American and leftist influence on education. For it, we shall have to connect the education with our traditional values,” he said.

Smt Aruna Sarasvat, national secretary of Bharatiya Shiskhan Mandal presented a paper on woman education from Vedic to medieval period. Sushri Rekha Chudasma, national co-convenor of Shishu Vatika, Vidya Bharati, spoke on women and family education. Dr Renu Mathur from Shiksha Bachao Andolan Samiti, Dr Payal Maggo from Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad also spoke at the seminar. Geetatai Gunde thanked all the participants for making the seminar a success. Uttar Kshetra Karyavahika Rekha Raje stressed the need to organise similar seminars in all the Prants. Shri Suresh Soni spoke on the global terrorism, global recession and global warming and said only India can show the way to the world on all these fronts.
