VHP president Shri Ashok Singhal described the veteran VHP leader Omkar Bhaway as an extra ordinary Pracharak who was instrumental in the Ramjanmabhoomi movement. Bhawayji had passed away in New Delhi on July 23. Shri Singhal was speaking at a condolence meeting held at VHP headquarters on July 26. He said despite facing so many hardships in his life, Bhawayji was deeply involved in his work. “Bhawayji and I were swayamsevaks of the same shakha in 1942. He transferred a big responsibility to all of us, which we all have to discharge unitedly,” he added.
Paying tribute Acharya Dharmendra said Bhawayji had unique organising skills and he worked without seeking publicity. That is why he was able to produce highly dedicated workers across the country. His rebirth is necessary for protecting the nation from many evils,” he said. Veteran VHP leader Acharya Giriraj Kishore recalled his long association with Bhawayji and said, he had the quality of doing any work he was assigned. VHP general secretary Dr Pravin Togadia said Bhawayji maintained good health in his life and except the present illness he never saw him in any hospital. He said his death is a great loss for the VHP. RSS Delhi Prant Sanghachalak Shri Ramesh Prakash hoped that Bhawayji would take rebirth at this land for serving the Bharatmata. Joint Organising secretary of VHP Shri Champat Rai said Bhawayji used pure Hindi while talking to others and he was in favour of calling the country Bharat and not India.
