V Ram Mohanrao awards presented

The V Ram Mohanrao awards were presented in Vijaywada on May 10 to Sri G Chakradhar, principal of Sakshi Journalism College as the best journalist, Sri Sai Satyanarayan Murthy as channel reporter and Sri A Srinivas as the best still photographer. The awards were presented by Bharat Prakashan Trust, which constituted the award after the former editor of the Jagriti, the late V Ram Mohanrao. President of Bharat Prakashan Trust Sri K Uma Maheswarudu presided over the function.

Former Jagriti editor and senior Sangh Pracharak Sri P Venugopala Reddy spoke about the humble and selfless work done by the late V Ram Mohanrao. He said today every newspaper or channel has its own ‘policy’. Many channels telecast negative news mostly. So the society hates the channels. We have to save the society. This concept has to be generated by the journalists and news channels. He said the media should protect the democracy. The media should focus on the problems faced by the poorer, weaker and downtrodden sections, he added. Sri M Babu Prasad welcomed the gathering. Prant Prachar Pramukh Sri T. Surya Prakash also spoke on the occasion.
