Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) appealed to the Hindus to rise above caste and creed differences and vote as one to bring into power a party with absolute majority in the Parliament, which looks after the interests of the Hindu society. In a statement issued on April 24, VHP president Ashok Singhal said by including all 11 points of Dharma Raksha Manch in its manifesto, the BJP is the only party which can guarantee safeguarding the interest of the Hindu polity. This can only be possible if 100 per cent people religiously go out to vote in spite of the intense summer heat.

?The BJP is the only party which can redeem the lost honour of the Hindu society. During the last sixty years the Congress has relentlessly been pursuing a policy to insult the Hindus. Cow population has almost disappeared in many states. Congress has purposely not enacted any strict law to prevent their slaughter. Cow dung fertilizer, which was used to enrich our agricultural soil, is not available and the indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers has made the soil barren with the result that crop output has fallen drastically resulting in total loss of the farmers? investment. This led to large-scale suicides by farmers. The BJP has committed in its manifesto that cow protection is an article of faith and for which it shall enact a specific law,? the statement said.

About the Ramjnamabhoomi issue, the statement said today the presiding deity of the 100 crore Hindus, Bhagwan Sri Ram, is seated in a cloth hut in Ayodhya. ?This insult and lack of reverence to our deity is because of the policies of the Congress. The Hindu society can no longer bear and accept this insult. The BJP has declared in its manifesto to take the initiative of construction of a grand Ram Mandir at the Ramjanmabhoomi. It is Soniaji'sCongress, which had stated in an affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court negating the very existence of Bhagwan Ram. The Congress is pursuing a policy of jehadis by which they have decided to destroy the Ram Sethu. Till date, this case is pending decision in the Supreme Court. The BJP has committed in its manifesto that it will not allow anybody to touch the revered Ram Sethu,? the statement said.

Today the Hindu society is looking for a guarantee of its security against jehadi, Maoist and Naxal terrorists. Due to their Muslim vote bank policy, the Congress has totally failed to provide any security to the country against terrorist activity. Gujarat is an example. In spite of it having a common border with Pakistan, it is a glaring example where the jehadis have not been able to disturb the peace in the state. Gujarat today is the leading state in the field of development in the country. It is the dynamic leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, which will take Gujarat to the peak of its development and show the way for development to the whole country, the statement added.
