Prof. Milind Marathe and Shri Vishnu Dutt Sharma are elected new national president and general secretary of ABVP respectively. It was announced by Election Officer Dr Durga Prasad Agarwal in Mumbai recently. The term of office for both the newly elected office bearers will remain for one year. They have assumed the new charge at the 54th National Conference held at Jalgaon in Maharashtra on January 23.
Prof. Milind Marathe is working as assistant professor with KJ Somaiya Engineering College in Mumbai. He is also known for his deep study on higher educational policies and has been active in the ABVP since 1979. He presented various papers on education at different seminars. He also visited Afghanistan as Member of Indian Voluntary Organisation ?Goodwill Mission? in May 2002. Till date, he held various responsibilities of ABVP as state organising secretary of Rajasthan, president of Maharashtra state unit and from 2004 to 2008 he was national vice president.
Shri Vishnu Dutt Sharma is from Muraina district of Madhya Pradesh and is active om ABVP since 1981. From 1995, he is working as a full time worker. Till date, he held various responsibilities like Vibhag organising secretary; state secretary, state organising secretary, zonal organising secretary, etc. and was also national secretary from 2003 to 2006.
