State BJP president Ashok Khajuria, who won Jammu East seat in this state Assembly election, while talking to this reporter said: ?I thank the people of J&K, who have reposed their faith in us. We will raise the voice of Jammu even if we are not in the government. We have come in the Assembly with 11 seats and are all prepared to play the role of a constructive opposition. As per the promise made in the BJP'smanifesto, we will introduce the Delimitation Bill in the Assembly.? He also urged for the support of other parties in this task.

BJP state president Ashok Khajuria while complimenting the people of Jammu for trusting them by electing its 11 members to State Assembly said the party will try its best to come up to the expectations of the masses and strive for fulfilling the poll promises. Talking to mediapersons, Shri Khajuria said for the first time in the history of J&K the BJP has bagged 11 seats in the State Assembly.

Stating that the BJP has contested this election mainly on the issue of discrimination, he said the successive governments led by different parties always played the Kashmir-centric role by ignoring the Jammu and Ladakh regions. The BJP is for regional balance among three regions of the state by giving their due share to them. ?Our policy is justice to all and appeasement to none and we will follow this policy?, he added.

He also took exception to the statement of former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad that the rise of BJP was dangerous for the state and there would be none to watch the interests of Jammu. ?He need not worry, BJP is there with 11 seats to take care of the interests of Jammu and protect it from discrimination,? he said.

Asserting that BJP will fight against discrimination with Jammu and Ladakh regions tooth and nail, he said delimitation will be BJP'smain agenda. ?The party will bring the Bill in this regard for necessary amendment in the Constitution in the Assembly as per our commitment and we will see that other parties to remain committed to their stand on the issue?, he added. Shri Khajuria further said that BJP has preferred to sit in opposition and watch the interests of the people of the state instead of joining the government.

Commenting on the Congress-NC bid to form the government in the state he termed it an unholy alliance saying how the Congress will join hands with NC whose patron, Dr Farooq Abdullah whom Congress in the Red Book published by the party termed a security risk. The Congress is supporting that party whose leader said that not a single inch of land will be given to Baba Amarnath, he added. On abrogation of Article 370, BJP state chief said the party is committed to it and it is an emotive issue for the party.
