Entire country is focusing on December 27 bypolls in Karnataka especially after the fractured and surprise election results of Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, who is soon to be conferred with a Doctorate degree from an American University for the outstanding social service, confidently said that Bharatiya Janata Party will win all 8 assembly constituencies despite the party'sdebacle in Rajasthan and Delhi. He said people of Karnataka will always support him as he is working almost 12 hours a day and his government is having a clear cut vision of development. According to him, both Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) are having an unofficial pre-poll alliance between them with the intention of causing a damage to BJP but voters understand everything and verdict will backfire the unholy alliance whether it is official or unofficial. ?I believe that BJP candidates will be victorious in all eight constituencies and we will continue to work hard for the full term,? he said. Of the five states that went to the polls, billed as the semi-finals before the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the BJP performed strongly to retain power in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Though the dismal performance in Delhi came as a shock, B.S. Yeddyurappa said any party should accept the people'smandate and try to improve the image of the party during the days to come.

Pakistan flag in Bijapur
Miscreants had a field day on December 7 and hoisted Pakistan flags at the public places thus insulting the Indian Constitution. Situated in north Karnataka bordering Maharashtra, Bijapur witnessed a most unlawful act by Muslim fundamentalists who unfurled the Pak flags at the Tippu Sultan Circle near state bus terminal and Managuli agasi area. Inspite of leading television channels telecasting live the Pakistan flags up in the air in the Indian soil, the Bijapur District Administration failed to act fast. This irked the peace loving public and soon atmosphere resembled like an emergency situation, then administration managed to remove the Pakistan flags. Condemning this Anti-national act, Sri Rama Sene, a Hindu outfit held a massive bike rally on December 9 and threatened to observe Bijapur bandh if the criminals are not arrested within 24 hours. However local police agreed to book a case against the culprits.

BJP launches Fight terrorism, save India campaign
Former Union Minister and noted journalist Arun Shourie on December 7 said that Indian government should keep an eye on internal developments in its neighbouring countries especially Pakistan and Bangladesh, where students right from their early stage upto university level, were being fed with Anti-India thoughts. He was speaking on the occasion of the launch of the Fight terrorism, save country campaign organised by BJP. He said ?eye for an eye? is an old terminology, what is required today is ?eyes for an eye and entire jaw for a tooth? while referring to the recent terror strike in Mumbai and he demanded that India should wage a war against Pakistan which is creating unlimited problems in India. He suggested to Indian government that keep Pakistan busy in its own problems so that they cannot concentrate more on Kashmir issue. State BJP leader Ananth Kumar urged the Centre to sanction a unit of National Security Guards in the state because of the increased threat to establishments here. He said party had decided to organise this campaign in all district and taluka headquarters in the state from December 10 to 16. State unit party president Sadananda Gowda read out a Sankalp that every citizen will join united in fighting the terrorism.
