Hindu Dharma Sabha condemns Mumbai carnage

Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha, the apex body of the collective voice of more than 100 heads of traditional Hindu seats of learning and spiritual practices in India, thanks the country'ssecurity forces which have, despite very heavy odds and at great cost to themselves, brought to an end the gory atrocities perpetrated by terrorists on innocent civilian population in the city of Mumbai.

What a bunch of hardened criminals have done by the cruel massacre of more than one hundred and fifty innocent civilians and by inflicting serious injuries to several hundreds more, is inhuman, totally unjustifiable on any count, and greatly condemnable without any reservation.

Seen from every angle religious, political and economic, it is hateful violence on the sacred soil of our country. The Acharya Sabha particularly condemns the religious hate and intolerance that seem to have driven the terrorists in their violent undertaking. This motive of theirs is explicit from the fact that they had targeted the religious head of the Jews in Mumbai and destroyed the whole family. The Acharya Sabha has also written to the Chief Rabbi of Israel condoling the death of their religious head in India.

The Acharya Sabha insists that the various relevant agencies of the central and the state governments should quickly put in place a stringent country-wide pre-emptive anti-terrorism law with prompt enforcement mechanism to make it meaningful. Also properly trained professional intelligence and national security formations should be quickly enhanced and strengthened with modern equipment and surveillance systems to forestall such terrible occurrences in future.
