?The results of exploiting the nature are always disastrous. The nature punishes if it is tortured beyond limits. Thengadiji was always against the senseless exploitation of the nature. What we call materialist progress is not development. Until we decide the limit of consumption the situation would remain unchanged,? said senior BJP leader and former Union HRD Minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi. He was speaking at Dattopant Thengadi Memorial lecture in New Delhi on November 10, the 89th birth anniversary of Thengadiji. The Lecture was organised by Swadeshi Vichar Kendra, a unit of Swadeshi Jagran Manch at Hindi Bhavan.

He said the collapse of US economy is not strange, as after communism, the collapse of capitalism was certain. Shri Saroj Mitra, national co-convenor of Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM), former chairman of PHD Chambers of Commerce Shri Ravi Wig were also present.

Earlier, Shri Bhagwati Prakash, national co-convenor of SJM described the agriculture as real economic sector that provides employment to 64 per cent people of India. Therefore, it must be protected honestly if we wish to save India from the economic disaster as is being faced by American economy. He said the Government must invest in the agriculture so that the income of 64 per cent people could go up. ?If the farmers are provided fair prices of their crops, it would strengthen the whole economy,? he added.
