Attack on the motorcade of BJP MP Yogi Aditya Nath in Azamgarh is the sign of a new face of terrorism in Uttar Pradesh. After Dawood Ibrahim and Abu Salem now Abu Basher is also from Azamgarh. Abu Basher is the main culprit in Ahmedabad serial blasts and is in jail now. Azamgarh is the native place of Kaifi Azami and Shabana Azami. But at present these two big names have disappeared from the scene.

What is the reason of attack on Yogi Aditya Nath? Because he is against terrorism in true sense. He has started a war against terrorism in UP. He is the hero of those Hindus who want to fight against terrorism. Yogi Aditya Nath was on the way to a rally organised against terrorism at DAV College Campus in Azamgarh. Hundreds of vehicles were in the motorcade. In Takia Mohalla (a Muslim dominated area) the criminals attacked on the motorcade. A group of miscreants started pelting the motorcade with stones. They also opened fire. They damaged over dozens of vehicles in different localities like Bandera, Kite and Bajbahadur. A Maruti car was burnt in another locality. The mob also set ablaze a police jeep and an electrical appliances shop. Yogi had a narrow escape but one person was killed and several were injured in widespread violence.

BJP MLA Atul Singh was also in the motorcade. He pointed out that over 100 vehicles accompanied Yogi Aditya Nath. As the motorcade entered one kilometer in Azamgarh city, firing and stone pelting started from a place of worship in Takia Paharpur. He also said that Rs seven lakh were looted from his vehicle. Even then Yogi along with his supporters reached the rally and spoke against terrorism. He said, ?Only slogans cannot defeat terrorism. People can defeat it unitedly. The Hindu society should be united.? He said Azamgarh is becoming the nursery of terrorism. Wherever in the country, terrorist attacks take place, Azamgarh'sname is always in the news. The Hindu society is not safe. Only united Hindus can stop terrorism in the country. People should ask the SP, BSP and Congress that when the police of nine states have strong evidences against Abu Basher in Ahmedabad serial blasts, why the leaders of these parties dare go his residence in the district?

There was unanimus repercussion. All the districts of eastern UP are tense. Hindu organisations like VHP, Hindu Jargan Manch and BJP are on the roads. These Hindu outfits called bandh in eastern UP that was successful. Azamgarh, Balia, Varanasi, Allahabad, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Bhadohi, Mau, Sonbhadra, Mirjapur, Faziabad, Gonda, Balrampur, Gorakhpur, Devaria, Kushinagar and Padrauna including state capital Lucknow were affected by the bandh. Gorakhpur, from where Yogi is MP, is very much tense. BJP state president Ramapati Tripathi described it a terrorist activity like Kandhamal in Orissa where Swami Laxmananand was murdered. BJP spokesperson Hridaya Narayan Dixit said soft behaviour of the state and central governments to terrorist organisations is the main reason of this type of attacks.
