Impatience brings no benefit

A fierce fighting broke out between two rams. Both went charging at each other and locked their horns, pushing and charging every now and then. A wolf passing by saw the two engaged in battle and wished that if only he could kill one of them then he could get a meal to feast upon. He decided to wait and let the rams disengage themselves and the one who loses will constitute my meal. So he waited patiently for the fight to subside.

The rams were so engaged in battle that they did not even notice the wolf swing nearby. They kept on attacking each other and blood began to flow freely from their wounds. On seeing the blood drops, the wolf began licking his tongue and imagining that he was drinking the blood. On an impulse, the wolf drew nearer the rams engaged in tussle to lick the blood but got so entangled between the horns of the two rams that he was made into pulp with the two rams butting into each other.

This only goes to show that one should wait for the right opportunity to arise than to be in a hurry to gain benefit.
