Anti-people to the core: JKVM

Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch (JKVM) has strongly condemned the move on the part of the state government describing it as anti-people to its core. In a statement issued on July 1 the Manch said the opposition to Amarnath Yatra is against the state interests as it is against the benefits of state tourism and economic uplift. The Yatra is being deliberately pushed into a controversy and attempts are being made to give communal colours by separatist elements of the valley.

Commenting on the revoking of land by the Congress government under pressure from secessionist forces, the Manch said it is an attack on the faith of millions of Hindus as mischief-mongers are trying their best to disturb the safe passage of the Yatra in which lakhs of pilgrims turn up from all over India. ?JKVM seeks central government'sintervention to arrest the vested interests at work and ensure all support structures for the peaceful Yatra which is a dream of every Hindu to visit the holy shrine. Separatists in Kashmir should know that every city in India boasts of Haj house where facilities are extended to Haj yatris and states grant funds for construction.?

Separatists are claiming to uphold the environmental cause. It would be better if they take the cause of vanishing forests in J&K at the cost of plundering vandals to reap the timber. They did not protest the stink in Dal Lake, the pride of Kashmir. So much for their environmental activism, they are real enemies of development and Kashmiriyat.
