May and June are the months of training for the RSS swayamsevaks. Training camps known as Sangh Shiksha Vargas, are held all over the country during these months.
A total of 67 Vargas have been held all over the country this year. It includes a third year Varga held in Nagpur, four second year special camps for swayamsevaks above the age of 40 years and some special first year Vargas. The RSS organised about 50 first and second year training camps for tarun swayamsevaks across the country. One camp was held in Manipur also. According to RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Mohan Bhagwat the exact number of the Vargas and the swayamsevaks underwent training will be available in July.
As usual the third year Sangh Shiksha Varga was held in Nagpur. It began on May 12 and concluded on June 9. A total of 871 shiksharthis from all over the country were trained at the Varga. Head of Shimoga Peeth Swami Raghaveshwar Bharati was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony, which was addressed by Sarsanghachalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan.
There are a total of 38 Prants in the country as per the organisational planning of the RSS. These Prants have further been grouped into 11 Kshetras. This year, four special training camps were held for the swayamsevaks above the age of 40 years at Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), Kota (Rajasthan) Bhubaneswar (Orissa) and Shimoga (Karnataka).
When asked why special camps for some swayamsevaks, RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Mohan Bhagwat explained: ?The swayamsevaks above the age of 40 years are more active in the society and the Sangh work. Most of them are active in sewa projects, rural development activities, Sampark and various other developmental activities. They have a respect in the society due to their age and experience. Keeping in view their nature of work and requirements they need to be imparted special training?.
The second year Varga (special) held in Ghaziabad had 161 swayamsevaks from Pashchim Uttar Pradesh Kshetra, Poorvi Uttar Pradesh Kshetra and Uttar Kshetra. The Varga held in Kota had 191 swayamsevaks from Pashchim Kshetra (31), Madhya Kshetra (82) and Rajasthan Kshetra (78). The Varga held in Bhubaneswar had swayamsevaks from Assam Kshetra, Uttar Madhya Kshetra and Poorvi Kshetra. The Varga held in Shimoga had swayamsevaks from Dakshin and Dakshin Madhya Kshetra (Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala Prants).
Similarly, the first year Vargas (special) for swayamsevaks above the age of 40 years were held at Kshetra levels. The first year (special) Varga of Uttar Kshetra was held in Rohtak (Haryana) in which a total of 171 swayamsevaks from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh underwent training. A similar Varga for the swayamsevaks of Brij Kshetra was held in Ghaziabad in which a total of 113 swayamsevaks from Brij Prant, Meerut, Uttaranchal, Avadh, Kanpur, Kashi and Goraksha Prants participated. The Varga for swayamsevaks of Rajasthan Kshetra, Madhya Kshetra and Pashchim Kshetra was held in Kota. A total of 274 swayamsevaks participated in this Varga.
The first year Varga of Delhi Prant for tarun swayamsevaks began in Najafgarh on June 8. It will conclude on June 29. A total of 338 swayamsevaks including 12 swayamsevaks from Pashchim Maharashtra, Konkan and Karnataka Dakshin Prants, underwent training. Similar first year Varga of Punjab Prant was held in Nabha (Punjab) in which 190 swayamsevaks underwent training. The Varga of Haryana was held in Rohtak in which 213 swayamsevaks participated. The Varga of Himachal Pradesh is scheduled to begin on July 15 at Chintapurni and the Varga of Jammu & Kashmir will began on June 16 at Sunderbani. The first year Varga of Avadh Prant began in Lakhimpur. The second year Varga of Poorvi Uttar Pradesh Kshetra for tarun swayamsevaks was organised in Raibarelli.
The second year Varga of Uttar Kshetra for tarun Swayamsevaks began in Dhuri (Punjab) on June 2. A total of 226 swayamsevaks underwent training at this camp. There are four swayamsevaks from other Prants also in this Varga.
The first and second year Vargas concluded in Orissa on June 1. The camps were organised at Patia (Bhubaneswar), Basudevpur under Bhadrak district and Subarnapur. More than 353 swayamsevaks from Orissa, Assam, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Andaman & Nicobar Islands attended the Varga. As many as 62 shikshaks imparted training to the shiksharthis. The participants vowed to fight against those, who are hatching conspiracy against Hindus across the globe. Participants were imparted tips on various vital issues at the camp. Prant Sanghachalak Shri Ashok Das, Sah Prant Sanghachalak Shri Bipin Bihari Nanda, South Bengal Karyavah Shri Ranendra Lal Bandopadhyaya, Shri Joranda Mahima Mutt Baba Ram Chandra Das, Khurdha Zilla Sanghachalak Shri Satyanarayan Panigrahi and Bhubaneswar Zilla Sanghachalak Shri Raghunath Pati were among those who spoke at the concluding ceremony. The swayamsevaks also displayed ghosh and various physical activities at the concluding ceremony.
