As part of an all India programme organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad, several dignitaries from North-East visited several parts of the country. Shri Pradyot Kumar Dhar of Adhivakta Parishad, Tripura and Shri Santanu Nayek, advocate from Assam, visited different districts of Haryana and attended several study circles, group discussions and seminars held at Faridabad, Gurgoan, Palwal, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Jagadhari from May 15 to 20. They apprised the people of the present situation of North-East in respect of infiltration and conversion. They appealed to treat these problems as national problems and a threat to the nation. Shri Santanu Nayek said Muslims have become deciding factor in 50 Assembly constituencies out of 126 seats in Assam. He said in Nagaland and Mizoram also the number of infiltrators are increasing. Number of madrasas and mosques have increased in the region posing a serious threat to the security. Conversion of Vanvasis and infiltration from Bangladesh are two major problems in the region. He said the political leaders have full knowledge of the problems but they are observing silence due to vote bank. Shri Anand Swarup secretary, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Faridabad, accompanied the delegates.
