Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh activists staged a massive demonstration against the anti-poor budget at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Addressing the demonstrators, Shri Girish Awasthi, BMS president, said the focus point of the Finance Minister while preparing the budget seems to be ensuring victory for the UPA in the coming elections and not the state of economy of the nation, nor the challenges the people of the country are facing in their day to day life. ?The gap between the rich and the poor, employed and the unemployed is widening. Cost of essential commodities like food grains and oil, education and health has touched the peak. Farmers have been left with the only option either to starve or commit suicide. All seem to have missed the point with the Finance Minister,? he said further adding that loan waiving is no solution for the farmers who need affordable inputs for cultivation. He warned that government'stilt towards corporate sector at the cost of the poor would bring disaster. He asked the workers to get prepared to accept the challenges.
