Khamosh! The lion of Gujarat is here with a magic number of 117 defying all the predictions of the exit polls. Shri Narendra Modi has defused the bomb of the pseudo-secular forces and the so-called secular media who had ganged up to tame the image of an upcoming BJP leader of future India, who has a nationalistic ideological blend of mind nurtured in the research laboratory of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. After Gandhiji and Sardar Patel, if anybody in Gujarat has drawn so much attention both at the national and international levels, it is Shri Narendra Modi, who has really given a true Modi model of development and has proved what the real susashan is (good governance), the term coined and claimed by party'sprime ministerial candidate Shri L.K. Advani during the NDA regime. The Gujarat Hridaya Samrat, Shri Modi has thundered the world and has proved that he is the real hero or the mani (jewel) of Mani Nagar and the common man all over the state reposed his faith in him to preserve the asmita of Gujarat.

While I was in Gujarat to cover the elections, I was pleasingly surprised to see the sea of humanity dancing to the tune of Shri Modi. Hardly is there any leader in any political party now in our country who would elicit such a huge response. In fact, after Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee it is Shri Modi who has a gripping voice and mesmerizing body language to directly interact with the people. It was Shri Modi'smagic that transformed anti-establishment factor into pro-establishment. Yes, Shri Modi is well acquainted with the pulse of the common man?a fact that put a spoke in Congress? wheels. Shri Modi has also given a lesson to the first family of the Congress party that to be a leader of the masses of Hindustan one need not be educated in a foreign university and need not work on the advice of the MBA professionals but a leader should be like Shri Modi for whom the priority is the pace of development of the society and living among the masses is the mantra. BJP president Shri Rajnath Singh rightly pointed out that Shri Modi succeeded in establishing a model state by development parameters. Shri Modi showcased a mini future India. Shri L.K. Advani maintained that Gujarat election result is the turning point in Indian politics and would have a large impact on the national politics.

BJP celebrates Modi mantra across the country
Not only Gujarati but the whole country celebrated Gujarat victory. The BJP office at Khanpur, Ahmedabad was illuminated and was jam-packed with thousands of men, women and children celebrating party'svictory. Jubilant Gujaratis break into bhangra as drummers work themselves into frenzy. ?Modi, Modi, Modi? everywhere. Even at the party headquarters in Delhi, Shri Rajnath Singh could not refrain himself from lighting up the fire crackers along with Delhi BJP chief Dr Harshvardhan and thousands of enthusiastic workers. In fact, two days before the happy birthday of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee, that falls on December 25, party workers offered sweets at his residence and the enthralling victory, which caused the Congress and the secular brigade to pull a long face, gave smiles to the octogenarian leader.

The Modi buzz
The Modi strategy for the outcome of elections would definitely give new thoughts to the politicians of high-tech age at every level. Shri Modi in most of the meetings told the people: ?Main aaliya, maliya, jamaliya, mafia, tapori, in sabko Gujarat ki dharti se bhaga dunga.? He sent out messages that he would not allow any anti-social elements to set up shops in the state. Khato nahi, khavana deto nahi (I am not involved in corruption nor do I give a chance to anyone to be corrupt), was also his clear message to the public to maintain honesty in public life. He would prepare the ground for delivering the punch dialogue by building it up to a question-answer session with the crowd. He would ask seemingly na?ve questions such as: ?You tell me was Lord Ram born? Was Sita Mata born? Were Ram and Sita married? Did Ram take Sita on his exile from Ayodhya?? To each of his questions the crowd would shout back ?Yes?. He would talk of his rural electrification through the ?Jyothigram? scheme. ?Aap ko chunna hain?Gujarat main Jyothigram ho ya Nandigram? was his another punch line. He was very much popular for his speech, which proved that Shri Modi knows the art of oratory and his doings in the last five years for the development of the state converted into votes. Shri Modi was proved by the public that he was the ?mat ka saudagar not maut ka saudagar?.

Development wins election
Of course, seeing is believing. Anyone who visited Gujarat cannot deny the stark reality that there is ostensible development in Gujarat. I myself realised during the whirlwind tour of the state that Gujarat would soon give the developed nations a run for their money in the field of development. Its highways are of world class. One can see the four-lane stretches even in the rural and tribal populated areas, which are well maintained. There is no visibility of poverty even in the far-fetched Banaskantha or Sabarkantha areas where the Congress had its bastion since Independence. Shri Modi'spro-people schemes reached to Godhra, Lunawada and in every Muslim-populated pockets. When asked one Muslim, Mohd Karim, in Lunawada, he said: ?We want Shri Modi to serve the fruits of governance in one plate to all sections.? And Shri Modi has served it in the platter to their expectations. When India is growing at nine per cent, Gujarat is growing at 11 per cent. The state has seen huge investments, notably Reliance's30 million tonne refinery, new private ports at Mundra and Pipavav and SEZs. Shri Modi'sstress on Bt cotton and check dams in Saurashtra pushed up his vote share in the region. He has not only taken the state on the path of development but he has infused confidence into the masses that their hard-earned money in the form of taxes are being used properly.
