A Virat Hindu sammelan was organised at Football Ground in Ahmedabad on December 31 to celebrate the birth centenary of Shri Guruji. RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Mohan Bhagwat was chief speaker. Mahant Shambhunath Maharaj of Jhanjar Peeth presided over the sammelan. Swami Vishweshanand of Sannyas Ashram, Swami Manglanand Maharaj of Geeta Mandir, Shri Amritbhai Kariwala, Gujarat Prant Sanghchalak and Shri Amit Bhai Shah, Mayor of Ahmedabad, were among the prominent people who were present on the occasion. State Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi along with his cabinet colleagues and former Chief Minister Shri Keshubhai Patel was also present. A group of 300 college students reached the venue running from the university ground.

Before the speech of Shri Mohan Bhagwat, four resolutions were adopted at the sammelan, which were passed unanimously. The first resolution said Hindus are the children of one Bharatmata and there can be no feeling of untouchability among them. The resolution further said no Hindu religious book including the Vedas ever mention about untouchability. Therefore, it should be done away with forthwith. The second resolution condemned the terrorist attacks in different parts of the country, which were done on the instance of the ISI. The resolution alleged that the Communists of the country are encouraging such terrorists. The central government for mere votes of minorities is following the anti-national policies. The resolution called upon the Hindu society to remain alert and united.

The third resolution said that the excavation in Ayodhya has proved beyond any doubt that there was a Hindu temple beneath the disputed site. Hence Hindus should be allowed to construct a temple there. The resolution warned that the Hindu society is ready for any sacrifice for Shri Ram temple and no further hurdle would be tolerated in this regard. The fourth resolution expressed concern over the demographic imbalance due to infiltration from Bangladesh. The resolution urged the central government to put an effective check on infiltration and repatriate the infiltrators.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Mohan Bhagwat said mere passing resolutions would fetch nothing. ?It also requires action accordingly. Today, our country is facing various onslaughts. We are surrounded by anti-India Pakistan, Bangladesh and China. Nepal too is going under the influence of Marxists. These countries are imparting training to terrorists against us. The whole country is at the target of Islamic terrorists. The question arises whether we shall be able to survive as Hindu society and this country will remain as Hindustan,? he asked.

Shri Bhagwat expressed confidence that these anti-India forces would not be able to bend us. ?We have defeated them many times. Today, they are again rising their head. In fact, we are ourselves responsible for that. Our Hindu society is not united. The society is in the deep slumber. Not only this, some people claim themselves as accidental Hindu,? he said, claiming that the nation would be free from the onslaughts soon. He said despite 500 years? slavery we are still 85 per cent in population. We have given peace and happiness to the whole world. We never attacked anyone, neither did we plunder any country. That is why we are amar.

He said if we give eight hours to ourselves, we should also spare eight hours for the society. We need to propagate our world-friendly culture and make it stronger. We need to remove selfishness and discrimination from our own life. The saying of saints that ?all Hindus are brothers and no Hindu ever falls? will be proved true when we start protecting the Hindu society.  (VSK, Gujarat)
