It is said that comrades, while discharging their party responsibilities, live a down-to-earth life. Their ?simplicity? is respected by the party workers. In the UPA government, the Comrades have taken all care to install the statues of the senior CPM leaders in Parliament. But, why this sorry state of affairs for the big CPI leaders during the regime of the UPA government? One who parks his vehicle in the Parliament parking can see that the great comrade Bhupesh Gupta'sstatue is lying in the garbage of the parking. It is the same Bhupesh Gupta who was very active during Indira Gandhi'sregime. Visitors to the Parliament wonder whether the Comrade Speaker is aware of this fate of the late CPI leader'sstatue.

Passing the buck
The high-profile HRD Minister Shri Arjun Singh appears to have mastered the art of passing the buck. Ranging from controversies involving NCERT History books to quota in minority institutions, to implementation of 27 per cent reservation for OBC candidates for Higher Educational Institutions under the Central Government to celebrating centinary year of Vande Mataram?Singh has cleverly managed to pass the buck for the controversy to someone else while grabbing the media attention for himself. While Singh is happy with his ?skill? this has left quite a few of his cabinet colleagues red face.
