Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a massive demonstration in Ujjain on September 8 to protest against the arrest of its state president Shashiranjan Akela and secretary Vimal Tomar for falsely implicating them in the murder case of Prof H.S. Sabharwal of Madhav College. Addressing the demonstrators, Shri Kailash Sharma, national president of ABVP, said the NSUI and the Congress have indulged in very dirty politics on the death of Prof Sabharwal. He administered an oath to all the participants that they would not sit silent till the real accused of the murder of Prof Sabharwal are not punished and would continue their struggle to bring reforms in the education sector notwithstanding the misinformation campaign by vested interests. Shri Sunil Ambekar, national secretary of ABVP, said those who teach ABVP the lesson of discipline should look at their own face. He said the ABVP demands complete inquiry into the tragic death of Prof Sabharwal. The ABVP activists, along with the distinguished people of the city, reached Dewasgate and held a rally there.
