?Protection is not possible without fully eradicating the enemy, disease and fire,? said Shri Ashok Singhal, VHP president. He was speaking at a function held in Byawar to unveil the statue of Prithviraj Chauhan in the premises of Ashapura Mata temple. More than 15,000 people belonging to 242 villages participated in the function. Rajasthan Chief Minister Smt Vasundhara Raje was also present at the function.

Shri Ashok Singhal informed that with the efforts of VHP a number of Muslims originally belonging to the Chauhan dynasty returning to their original roots at their own will. He said the medical van and the dharma rath roaming in this region are awakening the people. He further said the VHP is building temples in the villages where there is no temple. Referring to history, he said if Prithviraj Chauhan had eliminated Mohammad Gauri in the first attempt and would not have pardoned him 16 times, Islam would not have spread in India so on. He listed five enemies of Hindus?Church, Maoists, Islam, secular Hindus and the section of media being run with the foreign support.

Smt Vasundhara Raje came down heavily on the forces that are indulging in proselytisation in the state. She appealed to the people to think several times before being trapped by anybody to change their way of worship. She said the state government brought the anti-conversion bill so that every body can follow his own way of worship.

Mahant Kishore Das, Shrimahant of Mehandipur Balaji temple, emphasised the need for unity among Hindus for the protection of their way of worship. Shankaracharya Vasudevananda Saraswati, Swami Raghvacharya (Seekar), Shri Jagannath Gupta, president of state VHP, Shri Jugal Kishore, Kshetriya organising secretary, VHP, Shri Mohan Joshi, central secretary of VHP and Shri Dharmanarayan Sharma, senior VHP leader, also spoke on the occasion. The cost of the statue was borne by Dr Shiv Subramanyam of Karnataka.
