VHP president Shri Ashok Singhal has said that despite repeated efforts on the part of the government and sustained campaigns to malign its image, the RSS has won the hearts and mind of people of the country. Speaking to mediapersons in Dehradun recently, he said one-time critics of RSS are now turning to its admirers. ?More and more eminent persons in every field look at the RSS as the ray of hope. Swayamsevaks are looked upon as men of trust, confidence, calibre and character. There is a sea-change in the mood of the entire nation. The popular wave is rising all over in favour of its thought and activities,? he added. He said the social service is a sacred vow for RSS which would take Bharat to extreme prosperity and glory. ?Swayamsevaks are running over 80,000 service projects across the country, which have foiled the conspiracies of conversion in Vanvasi areas. This is because of this effort that Hindus have stood up against the anti-national forces and to safeguard their interests,? he said.
Shri Singhal further said the society is in the clutches of several people who are supporting the jehadis. A large group of people in the country is spreading jehad with the help of Islamic countries. Churches are also receiving huge fund from foreign countries, which is being spent on conversion. Expressing concern over rising Maoist menace, he said the Maoist terrorists have reached 170 districts of the country and are getting help from China and Russia in crores. Lambasting Congress for its pro-Muslim policies, he said the Congress policies would lead to disintegration of the country. Terming the on-going dialogue with Pakistan as appeasement, Shri Singhal stated if such methods are continued to be adopted, the country would soon lose Kashmir and even some parts of North-East and Uttaranchal.
