The alleged involvement of ministers, legislators and bureaucrats of Congress led coalition government in a major sex racket that rocked Kashmir recently, has brought forth the fact as how young and minor girls were sexually exploited for the promises of jobs by the forces that to be.

A minor girl had publicly named two Congress ministers in Mufti Mohd. Sayeed led government on her clientele list and the interrogation of other victims have brought forth nerve wracking facts pointing fingers towards several legislators, bureaucrats and police personnel of the state government. Over 43 Muslim girls of Kashmir region were providing sexual favours to top forces of state government. One of the victims that broke the scandal before media after her pornographic CD was seized by Kashmir police stated that she was exploited on promise of government job.

Ironically, few of the girls were serving as special police officers in Kashmir region and had several police officers as clients. Investigations revealed that some Muslim lady doctors and a Congress woman councillor were also among those involved in the racket.

The expose has snowballed into major controversy in Kashmir where radical groups and separatist leaders are making hay taking advantage of the situation.

The Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who has so far tried to project a clean and honest government since taking over from his predecessor Mufti Mohd. Sayeed last November is finding it hard to shelter his men from the party. He has ordered a CBI probe into the matter but knowing the shady handling of the state government of previous Anara Gupta sex scandal of 2004, the public wants public trial of the culprits by public disclosure of the names of all big people involved.

In the Anara Gupta case, the state police came under severe criticism when reports from three reputed forensic laboratories of the country varied. It was learnt that since some big names in the then Mufti Mohd. Sayeed government were involved, bogus CDs were officially sent for investigations.

Meanwhile, the women radical group, Dukhtaran-e-Millat along with some militant groups has given 10 days ultimatum to cable operators, beauty parlours, Internet caf??s, restaurants to shut down services. Cable services even were disrupted in Kashmir under threat from Al-Madina terrorist group. The radical groups have been claiming that television channels were responsible for moral degradation of Kashmiri society. Several beauty parlours have already been shut down before the completion of the deadline.

However sources say that disruption of cable network in Kashmir was institutioned by the ruling Congress government because almost all the channels were airing regular bulletins about the sex scandal executing pressure on the government.
