New Year celebration by Keshav Club

Keshav Club Delhi and Professional Forum organised a painting and essay-writing competition to celebrate the Hindu New Year, i.e. Vikrami Samvat 2063, on March 19 at the ground of Institute of Information Technology and Management in Janakpuri, New Delhi. Over 500 children participated in the event. Explaining the objectives of the Club, Shri Atul Mukhi, Media Coordinator, said the main objectives of the Club are to bring awareness among children about the Hindu culture and traditions through such activities. In order to inculcate a sense of pride among children the Hindu New Year was celebrated. He said the children studying in various so-called reputed schools of Delhi do not know much about the rich Hindu traditions. He said the historic and important facts about the Hindu calendar should be imparted to the new generation. In the programme, not only children, but a large number of distinguished people of Delhi also participated.
