“We have to save our temples and mutts from the clutches of government otherwise all temples and assets will disappear within a short period. We have to condemn the dual policy of the government regarding the minorities and Hindus. The government does not have any control on mosques and churches and their assets whereas it wants full powers on temples and the income from the temples is utilised on activities other than that of temples. The Central Government gives crores of rupees to Haj piligrims but denies Hindu pilgrims to go to Kailas Mansarovar. Due to the unplanned government policies all the temples are becoming tourist places and the santity of temples is damaged by all these things. This was the message sent out by a rally organised by Devalaya Parirakshana Samithi, Andhra Pradesh. The leadership of sadhus and saints and staged a dharna at Indira Park, Domalguda on March 23, 2006. Pushpagiri Peetadhipati, Hampi Vidyarany Swamiji, Shri Swarupananda swamiji, Shri Ramanuja Jiyyar Swamiji, Satyasadananda Prabhuji Maharaj, P.P. MataSivachainyanandaji, Mata Nirmalanandaji, Shri Sangram Maharaj, Shri Yogananda Saraswati, Shri Vittalananda Saraswati and other eminent saints participated in the dharna.

The MLAs Shri Mandadi Satyanarayana, Shri Kasipeta

Lingaiah of TRS and Shri Kishan Reddy of the BJP also participated in dharna and promised that they would give full cooperation to protect temples.
