Anti-Bang bhang movement'scentenary in Siliguri
FOC
North Bengal unit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh organised a function in Siliguri on October 2 to celebrate the centenary of anti-Bang bhang movement. Shri Tapan Ghosh, organising secretary of Poorva Kshetra Bajrang Dal, was the main speaker. In his chaste Bangla speech, Shri Ghosh gave a detailed account of the movement. He said how the country that rejected the partition of one of its areas on religious grounds in 1905 and later forced the British government to undo it, accepted the Partition of the whole country on religious ground in 1947. Explaining it, Shri Ghosh said lack of patriotism and misguided mentality of political leaders was responsible for it. Praising the leadership of Abraham Lincoln, former President of America, he said Lincoln initiated military action against his own countrymen to calm the separatist activities in his country. That his why America is a super power today. On the other hand, India is facing acute threat from ISI, CIA and a number of foreign powers patronising and supporting the separatist and terror activities. He said the Congress-Leftists nexus would again create the situation of another partition in the country. Before the function, about 200 uniformed Swayamsevaks took out a pathsanchalan in the city. Dr Satyapada Pal, a former professor at North Bengal University and Shri Sukumar Kundu, Siliguri Zila Sanghachalak, also shared the dais.
