Shiksha Bachao Andolan to be intensified
FOC

The national committee of Shiksha Bachao Andolan Samiti that met in Bhopal recently has decided to intensify the campaign against communalisation of education by the UPA government. A total of 84 representatives from various states participated in the meet. The meeting called upon the associated organisations to organise massive demonstrations across the country and also present memorandum to the President and the Prime Minister. The activists would also meet the influential people of Brahmin, Jain, Sikh, Jat and Rajput communities and will apprise them of the derogatory remarks mentioned in the new textbooks of NCERT about their communities. The people of these communities will be persuaded to meet the President and Prime Minister separately in delegations to register their strong resentment over the remarks.

According to Shri Dina Nath Batra, national convenor of the Samiti, the activists would contact various schools, colleges and universities of the country to apprise the people associated with education, of the wrong, derogatory and misleading facts being taught to new generation of the country. Educationists, social activists and saints would also be contacted. The Member of Parliaments, Member of Legislative Assemblies would also be persuaded to raise the issue strongly in their respective Parliament and state Assemblies. Crores of handbills would be distributed all over the country. Press reporters and editors of different newspapers would be requested to raise the issue in right context and also write editorials on it Shri Batra informed. The activists would also organise seminars and symposiums involving the historians and also the history teachers.
