Confused history misguides children?Dinanath Batra
VSK, Gujarat
National vice president of Vidya Bharati, Shri Dinanth Batra while strongly criticising the UPA government for communalising education, said that the government was trying to mislead the new generation of the country by teaching them confused and wrong history. He was talking to mediapersons in Ahmedabad recently. He said the government was violating the directions given by the Supreme Court in the context of textbooks. He said the Shiksha Bachao Samiti had strongly opposed the move. ?The previous NDA government had tried to remove wrong and misleading portions from textbooks following the recommendations of the Kothari Commission, constituted in 1986 by the then Rajiv Gandhi government and the directions of the Supreme Court, but the UPA government is again trying to teach the children wrong history,? he said, adding that educationists would not tolerate this tampering with education and would give a befitting reply to the government.
