Himanshi Sharma and Sakshi Bansal, two students of Smt. Brahmadevi Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Hapur, are creating news. They have developed a device to prevent car and train accidents. The models of the device, displayed at a Science Fair organsied by Vidya Bharati in Kurukshetra recently, received applause not only from the people visiting the fair, but also from former Union HRD Minister, Dr Murli Manohar Joshi and officials from the Northern Railways. Railways officials have directed the students to dispatch the detailed project to them so that they could think of giving shape to it. The device, if adopted, will stop the trains coming on single tracks, at a distance of two kilometers. A remote sensor is used both in cars and in trains. To prevent car and bus accidents, the students have suggested use of magnet in vehicles.
