One of the important activities of the Environmental Information System is to compile and provide need-based environment-related data to the industry and educational institutes. The data include environment-related aspects and impacts out of the developmental activites, adequate precautions to be taken, implementation and compliance under the environment-related legislation wherein expert views on the subjects are available.
The system also adequately deals with the information update covering areas such as national reserved forests, geological issues, environmental impact at the seashore, soil analysis, treatment of discharged water, traffic-related projects, socio-economic issues, etc.
The compiled information would be effectively useful to students, academicians, research students and government/company officials alike.
