Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam state general secretary Adv. Jayan Cheruvallil has filed a complaint against Sunny Kapikkad to the DGP on August 27, submitting an official memorandum before the State Police Chief urging urgent action against him.
The complaint says Sunny’s speech was a deliberate attempt to hurt the religious sentiments of crores of Ayyappa devotees and to create religious divide and enmity in the society. Insulting the Bhagwans and delivering hate speeches in the name of intellectual discussions and right to expression are not acceptable.
A joint statement of the Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam president Brahmashree Goshala Vishnu Vasudevan Nambootiri and general secretary Adv. Jayan Peruvallil demanded the registration of the case against Sunny Kapikkad, under Sections 196, 299 and 302 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), for the comments intended for breaking the social peace and communal harmony.

According to reports from Malappuram, anti-Hindu activist Sunny Kapikkad has made highly controversial comments blaspheming Sabarimala Bhagwan Sree Ayyappan and Malikappurathamma.
Comments were made during a protest march, on August 25, before the Tunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University in Tirur, Malappuram district. He went to the extent of stating that if Sabarimala Ayyappan happens to meet Malikappurathamma, he would become a rapist, hence Malikappurathamma’s shrine is positioned behind the main deity. He even said that the temple should be made inside a jail.
He made this comment during a critique of temple traditions and patriarchy surrounding the Sabarimala temple custom.
The comment invited sharp public wrath on social media from Hindu organisations and Ayyappa devotees.
Sunny Kapikkad’s remark has been strongly condemned as highly derogatory and insulting to religious sentiments.
This extreme anti-Hindu person has been walking around wearing the mantle of a Dalit activist for a long time now.
Swami Ayyappan is a god believed in by the entire Hindu community. Swami Ayyappan is also the clan deity of the tribal communities of the Malayaraya groups. It is against that very Ayyappan that this person named Sunny Kapikkad spat severe venom, in the name of being a Dalit activist.
Critics argue that this anti-Hindu man has praised Jamaat-e-Islami and Islam in the past. He is reported to be supporting the extremists who try to lead the poor Dalit Hindus to Islam. He appears to be a tool in the hands of the religious fundamentalists who keep on encouraging anti-Hindu propaganda and blasphemy. Has this person, who speaks only anti-Hindu talk for the sake of Jamaat-e-Islami and the Left, ever bought even a ten-rupee pen for a single Dalit student to this day? The reality is that such people have no influence among those who belong to Dalit tribal groups who are the majority of Hindu believers in India in Kerala.
Even today, without losing an iota of their own customs and culture, the vast majority of tribal people who worship Ayyappan, Durga, Kali, and Panchurulli as deities of worship — it is these same deep poisons that shout out the foolishness that they are not Hindus.
Sunny Kapikkad is infamous for his anti-Hindu speeches and writings. He described the Sabarimala agitation of 2018, which occurred when the Left government tried to smuggle in anti-Hindu young women to the Sabarimala shrine, as anti-woman, anti-Dalit and anti-Constitutional. He said that the protests were part of a Sangh-Parivar agenda for upper-caste domination. He has stated that Hinduism is anti-democratic. He also blamed that Hinduism is controlled by Neo-Brahmanism.
Several Ayyappa devotees have filed cases, throughout the state, against Sunny Kapikkad in the wake of his defamatory remarks against Bhagwan Ayyappa.
The episode once again proves that all self-styled activists keep on hurting Hindu sentiments, whereas they do not dare to say anything against Christianity or Islam. Anti-Hindu activist blasphemes against Hindu sentiments.
