A Ghar Wapsi programme in Keralam saw 102 former Christians embrace Sanatana Hindu Dharma
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Ghar Wapsi programme was held in Keralam, where 102 former Christians embraced Sanatana Dharma. The development comes as another step in the ongoing return of people to their ancestral spiritual traditions in the state.
The claim comes just days after a larger Ghar Wapsi programme reported from Keralam, in which 512 people were said to have voluntarily embraced Sanatana Dharma. Organiser reported on September 15 that the programme was facilitated by Hindu Seva Kendram and Adivasi Samrakshana Samithi, with organisers stating that the participants made the decision without force, inducement or compulsion.
According to the latest social media reports, 102 people who were formerly Christians have embraced Sanatana Dharma in Keralam. The post presents the development as part of an ongoing Ghar Wapsi movement and suggests that further programmes could follow.
The latest report follows the September 15 report by Organiser on a Ghar Wapsi programme involving 512 people in Keralam. According to that report, Hindu Seva Kendram and Adivasi Samrakshana Samithi facilitated the programme, while organisers described the participants’ decision as voluntary and connected to their ancestral cultural and spiritual heritage.
In January 2015, the sources reported that 27 people from five families underwent a reconversion ceremony near Kayamkulam as part of a VHP-led Ghar Wapsi initiative. The report said VHP functionaries described the participants as returning to the faith of their forefathers.
