New Delhi: An old video showing a man dancing at a party with what appears to be alcohol has been falsely presented on social media as footage of newly appointed Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir CEO Air Marshal (Retd.) Jitendra Mishra celebrating his appointment.
Congress leader Rashmi shared the video on X and claimed that Mishra was seen drinking and dancing at a party following his appointment as the CEO of the Shri Ram Mandir. The post was used to target the management of the Mandir and question the appointment of its new CEO.
However, a fact-check of the viral footage shows that the man seen in the video is not Jitendra Mishra. The video was also online months before Mishra’s appointment and has no established connection with the Shri Ram Mandir or its management.
Sharing the video on X, Rashmi alleged that Mishra was celebrating his appointment with a drinking party.
She wrote: “Earlier, the people counting donations used to steal; now the CEO is having a party. The Mandir has been turned into a corporate temple; even a dance floor has been installed. Jitendra Mishra was seen dancing and drinking while celebrating his appointment.”
The post attempted to portray the individual in the footage as the newly appointed Mandir CEO. But the claim falls apart when the original source and date of the video are examined.
The viral footage was originally posted on Instagram by a user named Vikas Rana on November 3, 2025. Other videos featuring the same individual are also available on the account, making it possible to establish that the person shown in the viral clip is not being seen for the first time in the footage now being circulated.
The November 2025 upload is significant because the footage was already available online before it was subsequently presented as a video of a celebration associated with Jitendra Mishra’s appointment. In other words, an old video has been given a new and unrelated context and circulated as purported evidence against the Mandir CEO.
A comparison of the man appearing in the viral footage with Air Marshal (Retd.) Jitendra Mishra further establishes that they are two different individuals.
The facial features and overall appearance of the man in the video do not match those of Mishra. More importantly, the original video carries no identification linking the individual to Jitendra Mishra, the Shri Ram Mandir Trust or the Mandir administration.
The misleading claim did not remain confined to a single post. A Pakistani account reportedly circulated the allegation about Jitendra Mishra, after which the claim was amplified in India by several Congress members and other social media users, including Abhijit Dipke and Saurav Das.
The amplification gave the old footage the appearance of being a fresh controversy surrounding the Shri Ram Mandir’s newly appointed CEO. The claim that Air Marshal (Retd.) Jitendra Mishra was seen drinking and dancing at a party to celebrate his appointment as Shri Ram Mandir CEO is false.
The video was originally posted in November 2025 and features an individual who is not Jitendra Mishra. It has subsequently been misrepresented as footage involving the Ram Mandir CEO.
