‘Who is the Indian MP behind Backops UK?’: Nishikant Dubey blows the lid off foreign networks targeting India

NEW DELHI: On July 28, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey levelled serious claims regarding the registration of a UK-based company allegedly linked to an Indian Member of Parliament, claiming the matter raises questions about foreign connections, media networks, and activities targeting India’s interests.

Addressing the media in Delhi, Dubey claimed that an Indian MP had registered a company named BACKOPS Limited UK in 2003 with its registered address listed as 2 Frongal Way, London. He alleged that the company has two directors identified as Brian Lovegrove and Ulrik McKnight whose names are associated with hundreds of companies registered in the United Kingdom.

According to Dubey, Lovegrove serves as a director in approximately 1,056 companies, while McKnight is associated with around 256 companies. He further alleged that nearly 60 companies are registered at the same London address.

The BJP MP claimed that several television channels operating from the same address have consistently been involved in “sensationalising developments in India” and supporting what he described as “anti-national forces.”

Questioning the ownership and purpose of the company, Dubey said he would raise the issue in Parliament and seek answers regarding the identity of the Indian MP associated with the company.

“There is an Indian MP who registered a company called BACKOPS Limited UK in 2003. Its registered address is 2 Frongal Way, London. It has two directors Lovegrove and McKnight. Lovegrove is a director in over 1,000 companies, while McKnight is associated with around 256 companies. Nearly 60 companies operate from the same address, including several TV channels whose business has been to sensationalise events in India and support anti-national forces. I will raise all these matters in Parliament. Who is this MP? What is the relationship with Lovegrove and McKnight? What role does 2 Frongal Way play in the Tukde-Tukde Gang?” Dubey said.

The BJP MP later reiterated his allegations on social media, questioning the identity of the Indian political leader associated with BACKOPS Limited UK.

In a post on X, Dubey wrote, “Which Indian politician is a director in BACKOPS Limited (UK) company?… What is the connection of that Indian leader with Brian Lovegrove and Ulrik McKnight?…”

Dubey’s remarks have added a new dimension to the ongoing political debate over alleged foreign influence, overseas funding, and the role of international entities in shaping narratives related to India.
