BMS hosts 15th BRICS Trade Union Forum (TUF) Summit 2026 in Hyderabad; Calls for worker-centric global order

HYDERABAD:  India’s foundational commitment to a “Humanity First” and people-centric approach to global governance. The transition into a digital, AI-driven economy must remain worker-centric, equitable, and protective of human dignity. As technology reshapes the industrial ecosystem, our priority must shift toward universal social protection and digital inclusivity. True progress is achieved only when the benefits of growth extend directly to the shop floor, Hon’ble Union Minister for Labour & Employment , Government of India, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya said in his keynote address of the inaugural session of the BRICS Trade Union Forum Summit 2026.The summit bridges local grassroots action with global policy advocacy.

Organised actively by the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), the initial assembly welcomed over 46 international delegates alongside 70 national trade union representatives, academics, and labour expertsfrom India. Shri B. Surendran ,Organising Secretary of BMS & CHIEF COORDINATOR OF BRICS TUF welcomed all the delegates attending the summit and wished good luck for the fruitful and historic outcome of the deliberations of the summit.

In the session representatives from the BRICS countries Carlos Augusto Muller, (Brazil); Yuki Otsuji, Workers Specialist ILO-Delhi, Justice (Retd.) Nagaresh N Hon’ble High Court Kerala. Sergei Chernogaev, Chairman, Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR); Shri Huxiang Zhu of China; and Shri Masale Godfrey Selematsela from South Africa were present on the Dias.

Hiranmay Pandya,Former President, BMS gave a vote of thanks and Surendra Pandey ,Gen.Secretary ,BMS conducted the session.

The event serves as a critical platform to address rapid shifts in global labour dynamics. It reinforces the collective mandate to secure equitable labour rights and formal protection for the last mile worker. The summit focuses heavily on addressing systemic vulnerabilities in the free-market model. The forum aims to establish alternative socioeconomic frameworks that target real poverty alleviation, representative democracy, and fair wealth distribution.

Over the next two days, the summit will drive high-level dialogue across four key structural task forces:

Universal Social Security: Strategizing international portability of social benefits to safeguard migrant and cross-border workers.

Human-Centric Technology: Creating governance models for the responsible, ethical adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the workplace.

Skills for the Future: Re-skilling the global workforce through robust public-private-union tripartite partnerships.

Women and the Future of Work: Eliminating gender gaps, ensuring equal wage rights, and driving inclusion across emerging industrial tracks.

The forum is also slated to discuss economic models, including the strategic development to foster a more balanced and representation.
