Joint Drill being held by security forces in Arunachal Pradesh
Guwahati: The Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) wrapped up a significant joint training exercise and coordinating conference on Tuesday in Arunachal Pradesh. The exercise, which brought together soldiers and personnel from both forces under one roof, was aimed at sharpening their ability to work alongside each other and stay battle-ready in one of India’s most strategically sensitive border states. The Spearhead Division under the Spear Corps of Indian Army, in conjunction with troops of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), conducted a joint training programme in the challenging terrain of Arunachal Pradesh, reaffirming the spirit of jointness and strengthening synergy at the tactical level.
Designed to enhance interoperability, operational coordination and combat preparedness, the training focused on mission-specific tactical drills, mountain warfare, route familiarisation, communication procedures, casualty evacuation and joint response mechanisms. Operating in harsh terrain, personnel of both Forces rehearsed operational contingencies and refined coordinated response capabilities essential for effective border management and frontier security.
The exercise underscored the seamless integration between the Indian Army and ITBP, fostering mutual understanding and strengthening their ability to operate together in demanding operational environments. The joint endeavour reflects the unwavering commitment of both Forces towards safeguarding the nation’s frontiers through teamwork, professionalism and a shared sense of purpose.
The Indian Army and ITBP remain steadfast in their resolve to ensure the security and integrity of the nation’s borders, while continuously sharpening their operational preparedness to meet emerging challenges.
As part of Project Navbharat, Spearhead Division organised an engaging ‘Know Your Army’ event at Sigar Military Station for students and NCC cadets from Don Bosco School and IGJ Higher Secondary School.
The programme aimed at fostering awareness about the Indian Army, inspiring patriotism among the youth and providing firsthand exposure to the life and ethos of a soldier. More than 100 students, accompanied by their teachers, participated in the event and interacted closely with Army personnel.
A key highlight of the programme was an informative briefing on Operation Sindoor, which provided participants with insights into the professionalism, courage and operational capabilities of the Indian Army. The students also witnessed displays of modern weapons, surveillance and drone systems, offering them a glimpse into contemporary military technology and its role in modern warfare.
The event further featured live firing demonstrations and a battle obstacle course, enabling participants to experience the challenges, discipline and determination that define military training. The interactive nature of the programme generated immense enthusiasm among the students and encouraged meaningful engagement with the Armed Forces.
Through Project Navbharat, the Indian Army continues to strengthen its connection with the youth, nurturing values of leadership, discipline, national pride and service to the Nation. The initiative reflects the Army’s commitment towards inspiring future generations and fostering greater awareness about the role of the Armed Forces in nation-building.
