Between January 2025 and January 2026, a series of reported incidents from across Bharat have highlighted cases in which Hindu girls and young women died by suicide, with their families alleging sustained harassment and coercion by Muslim men. These incidents, recorded from multiple states, involve allegations of prolonged mental pressure, emotional manipulation, blackmail, intimidation, forced relationships, and pressure for religious conversion. Collectively, they raise serious concerns about the safety, psychological well-being, and social vulnerability of young Hindu women.
The issue has gained wider public attention ahead of the scheduled release of the film ‘The Kerala Story 2’ on February 27, 2026. The film is positioned as a cinematic portrayal of real-life cases involving the exploitation of Hindu women by Muslim men and their alleged use in jihad-related activities. It is the sequel to ‘The Kerala Story’, a film released on May 5, 2023, which had generated nationwide debate and discussion.
According to information associated with ‘The Kerala Story 2’, the film depicts the stories of three Hindu women, UPSC aspirant Surekha Nair from Kerala, javelin throw athlete Neha Sant from Madhya Pradesh, and social media influencer Divya Paliwal from Rajasthan. The narrative shows how the characters Salim, Faizan, and Rashid allegedly trapped them in romantic relationships, leading to the destruction of their personal lives and long-term psychological suffering. In the film, the victims are shown claiming that the objective of such networks is to target India’s estimated 8.5 crore unmarried Hindu women, with conversion portrayed as a stated mission and emotional relationships described as tools more powerful than explosives.
However, the story presented in ‘The Kerala Story 2’ is not limited to three individuals. The incidents documented in the following report reflect a broader pattern. In 2025 alone, at least 15 reported cases emerged in which Hindu girls and young women allegedly faced such severe harassment by Muslim men that they were driven to suicide. These include cases from January 2026 involving alleged harassment by Javed Ansari, a November 2025 incident in Mumbai involving Sadhana Chauhan, and an April 2025 case in Varanasi linked to alleged blackmail by Ayaz Siddiqui, among others.
The recurring allegations, targeting Hindu girls, trapping them through relationships, subjecting them to exploitation, pressuring them to convert to Islam, and creating circumstances of extreme psychological distress suggest that the suffering endured by the victims extends far beyond cinematic representation. The pain and struggles reflected in these real-life cases, as described by families and recorded in police complaints, show the gravity of the issue.
The detailed incidents from are given below.

On April 18, 2024, Neha Hiremath was allegedly attacked with a knife and killed by Fayaz Kondikoppa. However, in that case, the Karnataka police, in the charge sheet submitted to the Hubballi court, ruled out the love jihad angle and stated that the murder occurred due to refusal of marriage. 15. Final-Year RGPV Civil Engineering Hindu Girl Dies by Suicide; Police Probe Forced Exploitation Allegations, Muslim man Sejal Khan get arrested
Bhopal, March 9, 2025: A 20-year-old final-year student of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal, died by suicide after reportedly enduring sustained pressure and exploitation, police and family sources have said. The case has drawn attention to possible exploitation networks operating near the university campus.
According to police, the deceased was Hindu girl , a civil engineering student in her final year. She consumed a poisonous substance at campus and was rushed to Hamidia Hospital when her condition deteriorated. She died during treatment. Family members told police that they had recorded a video of Sakshi speaking about events shortly before her death, which is now part of the ongoing investigation.
Police have arrested the first accused, identified as Sejal Khan, as part of their investigation. Authorities say preliminary probes indicate that Sejal lured Sakshi with false promises of affection and then entered into a physical relationship with her. Investigation further suggests that Sejal, along with a woman named Kajal, allegedly coerced Sakshi to provide services at a spa center they operated. This repeated pressure and alleged exploitation are being examined as factors that may have contributed to her decision to end her life.
Police and investigators are continuing to examine all aspects of the case. The university community and local authorities have not yet issued further public comments as the matter remains under active inquiry.
Taken together, these 15 incidents reveal a consistent and deeply concerning pattern. Despite differences in geography, age, and social background, the allegations raised by families share common elements, sustained mental harassment, emotional manipulation, blackmail using private images or videos, coercive relationships, threats of violence, and pressure for religious conversion. In many cases, the distress reportedly continued for months before the victims took their lives.
Several cases also highlight gaps in timely intervention. Complaints were sometimes filed before the deaths, yet decisive action often followed only after the tragedy had occurred. Arrests, investigations, and public protests became reactive measures rather than preventive safeguards. This has intensified questions around institutional accountability and the need for stronger mechanisms to protect vulnerable individuals from prolonged psychological abuse.
These incidents show that the issue is not limited to isolated disputes but points to a broader social and legal challenge. The loss of young lives has left families devastated and communities shaken. While films like ‘The Kerala Story 2’ may attempt to depict such realities on screen, the documented cases above demonstrate that the lived experiences of the victims and their families are far more complex, painful, and consequential than any cinematic representation.
